Brian Lonano Returns!…

It’s been a few months since I published my review of Brian Lonano’s fascinating little short, Content: The Lo-Fi Man.

At the time, I’d gathered up several of the science fiction shorts he had up on YouTube, but never quite got around to publishing them.

But this seems as good a time as any to revisit a few of these:

Attackazoids offers decidedly lo-fi alien robots with a bit of irony, although he switched to full-on satire with the second film:

While Martian Precursor hints at an alien invasion and gives us a bit of body horror, without ever admitting that any of this is real — all in just over a minute:

And Electrical Skeletal has fun with graveyards, aliens, and the vengeful dead:

You can tell Brian had a lot of fun with these films, and it’s amazing how much a gifted filmmaker can do with so little.

But then, that’s what I thought about Content: The Lo-Fi Man.

So here’s hoping he’ll keep turning out more films like these.

Or, even better, unlike these…

Mark Cole hates writing bios. Despite many efforts he has never written one he likes, perhaps because there are many other things he'd rather be writing. He writes from Warren, Pennsylvania, where he has managed to avoid writing about himself for both newspaper and magazine articles. His musings on Science Fiction have appeared in Clarkesworld and at IROSF.com, while his most recent story, "Finale" appeared in Daily Science Fiction.
